Getting Started with Digital Photography
10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Choose between:
Session 1: Tuesday – Friday, July 8 through July 11, 2008
Session 2: Tuesday – Friday, July 15 through July 18, 2008
Using your own camera you will explore digital photography including exposure, white balance and choosing the best image resolution. We will also learn lighting and composition as well as image editing techniques using Adobe Photoshop Elements. Bring a digital camera with you to class. Class limited to five participants. Members $150.00; Non-members: $175.00.
Intermediate Digital Photography
10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Choose between:
Session 1: Tuesday – Friday, August 5 through August 8, 2008
Session 2: Tuesday – Friday, August 12 through August 15, 2008
Continue on to this workshop to explore more advanced Photoshop Elements and printing techniques. Using your own camera you will have the opportunity to build on what you already know. Printing costs included. Bring a digital camera with you to class. Class limited to five participants. Members $175.00; Non-members: $199.00.
Pam Heckel, the instructor, has worked professionally as a portrait photographer for over 10 years specializing in outdoor environmental portraits of children and families. She earned her MFA in photography from the Savannah College of Art & Design in 2005.
Eye Spy On The South Side (Grades 3-10)
This program is a collaboration between Silver Eye and The Pittsburgh History & Landmarks Foundation. Students take a short walking tour on the South Side to identify architectural details and then return to Silver Eye to complete a photographic collage project based on what they have seen and learned. Price: $5.00 per student. On-site programs are one and one-half hours long and include an interactive tour of the exhibition. Pennsylvania and National school standards addressed.
