Opening Reception for Self Portrait: Silver Eye at 30

Saturday, July 11, 3:00 – 5:00 p.m.

Come meet the artists, celebrate Silver Eye’s anniversary year and help launch our summer exhibition. Self Portrait: Silver Eye at 30 features over 100 photographs submitted by Silver Eye members from around the world to celebrate Silver Eye’s 30th Anniversary. We aim to honor Silver Eye’s rich history as Pittsburgh’s only non-profit art gallery devoted exclusively to photography, while simultaneously providing our members with the opportunity to creatively represent who they are with a camera. Many participating exhibitors have interpreted this theme literally by focusing their lens on themselves, others on reflections, environments, abstractions and personal themes. Photographic methods range from traditional silver gelatin or inkjet prints to alternative processes such as tintypes and ziatypes. Members and students free; Non-members $5.00. Refreshments will be served.
