Exhibition Prints

Silver Eye presents fine quality photographic prints in our Main Gallery and in our New Works Gallery. We exhibit a variety of photographs from silver gelatin prints that were the main type of print throughout the Twentieth Century, to archival inkjet prints, which are increasingly prevalent in the first decade of the Twenty-first Century. Many other types of photographs have been on display at the gallery including daguerreotypes, tintypes, cartes-de-visite, cabinet cards, albumen prints, bromoil prints, gum bichromate prints, 20x24-inch Polaroid prints, and more.

Most of the photographs we exhibit are available for purchase with the exception of those included in traveling exhibitions and those that are deemed not-for-sSale by the photographers. When prints are sold from the Main Gallery, Silver Eye retains 50% of the sales price, and 50% of the sales price goes to the photographer. This provides earned revenue for our small non-profit arts organization while it also supports the creativity and efforts of living photographic artists. Starting in 2008, when prints are sold from the New Works Gallery, Silver Eye retains 40% of the sales price, and 60% of the sales price goes to the photographer, a Silver Eye member. The New Works Gallery, like the New Works Gallery Online, is comprised exclusively of images made by our members. Those who are interested in being considered for exhibitions in these galleries at Silver Eye must first become members of the organization.  Membership is open and available to anyone.
