Call for Educators

The Silver Eye Center for Photography is looking for qualified instructors to lead “Photo Safaris.” Silver Eye Photo Safaris are field trips, in and around the Pittsburgh area, lead by a photographic expert in an interesting and visually striking local. Instructors are expected to have an excellent understanding of photography and be able to give meaningful feedback and basic instruction, such as basic camera operation and composition, to the participants. We also encourage our instructors to build a relationship with the participants so that education and advice can take place after the program as well. An example of this would be utilizing a Flikr account to give feedback on the images created during the Safari.

Qualifications to be an instructor for the Silver Eye Center for Photography;

  • Have a degree in photography
  • Have teaching experience
  • Pennsylvania Act 33/34 clearances (Child Abuse History & Criminal Background)
  • Have a valid Pennsylvania drivers license
  • The ability to work with a range of people and skill levels within photography
  • Be able to give meaningful feedback quickly to the students
